Description

The solution handles large amounts of data to ensure rates are calculated and relevant for each gateway and to remove time-intensive manual calculations. AFR product management required gateways to provide stations with comprehensive rate plans to cover the different dimensions of rate composition.

The Sciant team built an integrated  solution with CW1 that  enables detailed reporting, additional automation and more data-driven decision-making processes.

For the purposes of delivering the solution, Sciant provided a team consisting of Senior Industry Consultants, Business Analysts, Database Developers and QA Engineers.

Scope

Sciant worked closely with the client to provide industry consulting and define the business and functional requirements to build a pilot platform using online Excel data sheets for initial collection of rates data. The scope broadened to deliver a web-based solution accessible to 150 countries worldwide, requiring the platform to work faster and handle increased numbers of access points. This would enable DHL to be more responsive by removing delays in rate updates which occurred due to manual processes.

To achieve a more seamless process and support the go-live of Airfreight (AFR) in CW1, the AFR Product Management organization needed a solution to calculate the internal gateway tariffs, publish the internal gateway rates to countries and automatically load them into CW1
